The rates were already set up for me & I just wanted to get an idea for what to charge in the future since I recently relocated to Portland & am looking into doing my makeup out here as well. I do wedding makeup also, but I was just getting into it so I didn't charge very much when I did it. I would also like to know if there is an industry standard rate so as to not low-ball all the other makeup artists who have established a minimum rate for the industry. Any info will be greatly appreciated!
I LOVE make-up & try to use as Healthy as possible, ones on my skin! I just discovered the "secret" about Bismuth Oxychloride in the many "famous brands" of Mineral make-ups! DO not let the word "NATURAL" fool you into believing "SAFE" for you. The FDA does not regulate the cosmetic industry, & it is up to us to read our Labels!
2 of my relatives, in different states had bad experiences with the minerals. 1 Intense itching on her skin, & 1 burning as she applied the minerals. PLEASE do a search on it on Yahoo/google, Bismuth oxychloride. I feel it is my "new" mission. And I just found out, another company I've been with, who touts, pure/safe/beneficial, it is in their mineral make-up too!!!! I found out the bismuth is what gives you the "GLOW", at the sacrifice of what, arsenic on my skin!!!
If you want more info on where to get "healthy" minerals, $2 sample pots available too! Email me anytime, soyjoy@charter.net I don't want to get in trouble for advertising, but had to share.....

It was almost completely clear.), it says it's oil free, and my skin needs that. Very oily and sweaty. Almost paint-like in the consistency of the oil.

I don't know if it's possible, but if any of you can, would you tell me exactly why it's doing this, or if it's just the heat, if you've used it and what reaction you had, and/or a better concealer or foundation for my skin?

Lots of love and thanks.

So I finally want to join the Big Girls League, and really learn how to put on makeup besides awkwardly smearing a bit on with those dumb foam applicators that come with the crummy cheap colours I usually buy.

A friend just introduced me to MAC makeup. *flail, twitch, lust* I really like it. It's pretty. I want to learn how to put it on, and anoint myself in fabulous eyeshadow!

However, I can't afford to cough up around $70 total for the "3 brushes that I JUST CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT" (quote from the MAC employee trying to push this stuff on me). Where can I get good-quality makeup brushes (and hell, how many do I need to do the basics?) that won't bankrupt me?

If only I could afford some MAC eyeshadows, too. Anyone have any lying around that they don't want? tee hee....
